There was once a story by Antoine de Saint-Exupery where a Turkish astronomer made a discovery of an asteroid but was not taken seriously by “the International Astronomical Congress” because he was wearing Turkish costume. When he presented again wearing European costume “dressed with impressive style and elegance,” he was then given credit. Closing a sale in real estate business is like that. Clients, whether consciously or unconsciously, can judge your credibility based on how you look. Clients will be investing into a property using large monetary amounts, thus, it is just normal for them to ascertain whether their agents are trustworthy or not. Furthermore, it is not just the agent’s business know-how that makes him close the sale. People can be often discriminating with other people’s appearance especially in business matters. Thus, agents in business attire project an impression that they are serious about doing business.
